About The Communications Council

The Communications Council is the peak professional not for profit industry body representing companies in the Australian advertising industry, and coordinate the AWARD awards, which recognizes Australasia’s most creative advertising.

The Role

In preparation for this year’s award ceremony, we will need 2 temporary event assistants to help our events team successfully conduct daily judging panels from 14th February - 27th February.  These panels will consist of reviewing 2018’s top advertising campaigns with the industry's leading creative talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Judging room setup.
  • Catering set up and clean up.
  • Technology assistance and troubleshooting with iPads, PC laptops, and projectors.  
  • Assisting the Event Manager with the recording of results and judging decisions.
  • Runner for any materials needed for judging.

The ideal Event Assistant will have the following qualities:

We are ideally looking for someone who is studying Advertising or Events Management, or has just finished studying and is looking to get some hands-on experience within the advertising and/or events industry. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and conscientious.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Related experience in event management, advertising, or office admin is preferred
  • Effective communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to follow direction and listen to instructions
  • Attention to detail
  • The belief that no task is too small
  • A natural problem solver
  • Available to work varied hours during the judging period (must be available 8am - 8pm each business day during the period)

$25/hr plus super
