‘Outstanding success’ at this year’s Cannes Download screenings

Tuesday, 7 August 2018

Cannes WrapMore than 300 people from the advertising industry attended the 2018 Cannes Download special screening and panel discussion, held at Chauvel Cinema in Sydney and Palace Como in Melbourne in August.

Curated by the APG, AMG and AWARD, the Cannes Download screening featured a selection of the most interesting, innovative and entertaining campaigns from this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, followed by insights from a panel of industry leaders comprising Cannes Lions Jurors, award winners, and industry leaders.

In Melbourne, the night capped off with a riveting panel discussion that included Mike Napolitano (TBWA), Jo de Fina (Otto), Jacqueline Witts (AJF Partnership) and Brad Eldridge (Isobar).

Panel moderator and client partner at AJF Partnership, Bryce Coombe said the event was, once again, another outstanding success in Melbourne.

“120 attendees gathered for an inspirational and thought provoking session...The discussion was lively, the opinions sometimes controversial but always engaging and motivating,” he said.

At the Sydney screening, attendees heard insights from a panel of industry leaders, including Cannes judge and deputy ECD at BMF Jen Speirs  on ‘advertising envy’, their own experiences at Cannes, and their passion for discovering new talent in the industry.

The Communications Council would like to thank the APG, AMG and AWARD for presenting the event. A special thank you to the panel members and moderators (listed below) who gave up their time.
